理学博士，研究方向为海洋生物系统分类学，主要从事珊瑚与纤毛虫的系统分类、多样性与动物地理学研究。近年来，主要开展深海珊瑚的生物多样性、系统发育与连通性研究，以及网箱养殖对生物多样性与环境的影响评估工作。近5年来，主持国家省部级科研项目4项，含国家自然科学基金2项。在国内外专业学术刊物发表研究论文30篇，其中SCI收录论文为27篇（含第一作者/通讯作者14篇），授权发明专利1项,是SCI刊物Saudi Journal of Biological Sciences，Journal of Eukaryotic Microbiology和International Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology的特邀审稿人。
